From the recording Eye's of the World

Recorded in spring after the pandemic at Bunker Studio in Brooklyn, NY, 'Eyes of the World' composed by Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter is the third release from Ari Joshua and his groovy band. Joining Ari for this session is drummer John Kimock, known in part for touring with Dead and Co bassist Otiel Burbridge and Phish bassist Mike Gordon, and for his original music, as well as renowned NYC bassist Andy Hess, who has worked with Gov't Mule, The Black Crowes, and others. Keyboardist Eden Ladin, an internationally touring artist from Israel, adds a unique touch to the music. This track is a treat for Deadheads, Phish-heads, and fans of guitars, drums, electric basses, and analog keys. 'Eyes of the World' showcases a memorable first take from this classic rock 'n roll quartet formation. Bunker studio was founded by Jon Davis and Aaron Nevise, who were classmates with Joshua, a return to this new version of the studio was something of fate, Ari was present for the studios humble beginnings.
lyrics
Right outside this lazy summer home
You ain't got time to call your soul a critic, no
Right outside the lazy gate
Of winter's summer home
Wondering where the nuthatch winter's
Wings a mile long
Just carried the bird away

Chorus
Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world
But the heart has its beaches, its homeland and thoughts of its own
Wake now discover that you are the song that the morning brings
But the heart has its seasons, its evenings and songs of its own

There comes a redeemer and he slowly, too, fades away
And there follows his wagon behind him that's loaded with clay
And the seeds that were silent all burst into bloom and decay
And night comes so quiet, its close on the heels of the day

[chorus]

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own
And sometimes we visit your country and live in your home
Sometimes we ride on your horses, sometimes we walk alone
Sometimes the songs that we hear are just songs of our own

[chorus]
